Abstract

The Human Resource Analytics (HRA) acceptance in Pakistan is investigated in this study through enumerating salient issues, literature gaps, challenges, recommendations, and implications for the organizations. Although HRA has been acknowledged to have the potential to enhance employee retention and organizational performance, in-depth impediments to its application in Pakistan exist. The turning complexities in human resource management need data-driven decision-making, and yet most of the organizations still stick with the conventional practices. A review of literature reveals the almost nonexistence of empirical research on HRA in much of the developing world, particularly Pakistan, thus leaving a major knowledge gap for HR practitioners with respect to the applicability of analytics. Apparently, the contextual interpretations are missing in most studies thus creating challenges for organizations to develop best practices that fit their situation. The gap analysis determines the immediate areas that need to be focused on; those are data quality, skill shortage of HR personnel, and cultural resistance to the adoption of new technology. In addition to that, ethical considerations about data privacy pose further complications, thereby inhibiting HRA acceptance. Several recommendations have been made to counter such challenges: improving data management practices, investing in training programs to develop analytical skills, building a culture of data-driven decision-making, and upgrading technological infrastructure. Moreover, setting out ethical data-use guidelines would be majorly significant for earning employees' trust and observing privacy laws. Research implications for the organizations constitute an immediate benefit. Successful HRA application by organizations helps in decision-making, employee engagement, and aligning HR practices with overall strategic goals. The study stresses the need for collaborative work by industry players, academics, and other stakeholders required in crafting a concrete HRA framework for Pakistan. Then, once the noted gaps and challenges are dealt with, the organizations will benefit from effective implementation of HRA leading to sustainable growth and enhancement of HR practices in that region.
